Mediation in Education

Disputes in education are becoming common place, and these could occur at any level, from Nursery, Special Needs through to Further and Higher Education. Disputes often occur when pupils / students are excluded or disciplined within schools and colleges but there are growing numbers of complaints which arise when students do not achieve the examination results which they anticipated.

At The National Mediation Centre we are well aware of how much disruption a dispute in a school or college can cause. We have handled many mediations to resolve such problems and we are concerned that there is a general lack of understanding in schools of effective conflict management.
